LANCASTER, S.C. — Two Indian Land school bands have received South Carolina Band Directors Association Outstanding Performance Award for the 2023-24 school year — the Indian Land Middle School Band and the Indian Land High School Band.
This is the highest achievement given to bands in South Carolina. Qualifications for this award come from student participation and success in Region and All State Bands, Large Group Concert Performance Assessment, and Solo and Small Ensemble Assessments.
This is the first time Indian Land Middle School has won this award since the 2014-15 school year.
Lancaster County School District congratulates Michael Skellett and Savannah Gavigan of the Indian Land Warrior Middle School Band and Daniel Gulledge and Shelly Strauss of the Indian Land Warrior High School Band on their bands’ prestigious awards.
