Warriors sweep Stallions
The Indian Land Warriors moved their overall record to 12-3, 9-0 in Region 3-4A, with a home twin bill sweep of South Pointe High School of Rock Hill on March 29.
The Warriors won the opener, 15-4 in six innings and followed with a 10-0 victory in six innings in the nightcap.
In the opener, Alex Blanchette was the winner, going three innings and striking out five. He allowed two runs, one earned run, two hits and three walks. Cole Gutmann went an inning, yielding two runs, one earned, a hit and two walks. He fanned one.
Matthew Boyd went two innings, giving up a hit and a walk with three strikeouts.
Emerson Rhodes had two hits, a RBI, walk and scored three runs. Gutmann generated two hits, an RBI and scored a run.
Cole Dombkowski supplied two hits, a walk and an RBI. Michael Doan had two hits and scored a run.
Conor Grossman had a hit, three RBIs and scored a run. Blanchette had a hit and scored twice.
James Knoll walked, drove in a run and scored a run. Bodie Langborgh scored twice and Cooper Armstrong tallied a run.
In the second game, Doan was the winner in the 10-run shutout, going four innings and allowing three hits, and no walks. He struck out eight.
Langborgh pitched two frames, yielding a hit and two walks. He fanned three.
Knoll led the offense with two hits, including a double, with two RBIs, a walk and scored two runs. Gutman had an inside-the-park two-run homer and scored a run.
Blanchette had a hit, two RBIs, two walks and scored a run. Grossman doubled and drove in a run and scored a run.
Langborgh and Armstrong each had a hit and scored a run. Dombkowski walked, with an RBI and a run scored.
Jackets down Knights
Buford moved its Region V-2A baseball record to 6-0 with a 9-1 win over North Central at the Knights’ field in Boonetown on March 29.
Tanner Sellers notched the win, going four innings and striking out four. He allowed a run, a hit and two walks. Lowery went two innings and fanned two. He gave up a walk and a hit. Love pitched an inning and yielded a hit.
Jackson Sellers sparked the offense with three hits, two RBIs, a stolen base and scored a run. Ewing had a hit, two RBIs, a walk and scored twice. Tanner Sellers rapped a double with an RBI, sacrifice and scored a run. Catledge had a hit and a walk.
Morgan had two walks, two stolen bases and scored two runs.
Vols fall to Cheraw
Cheraw built a 6-0 lead after four innings on the way to an 8-4 Region V-2A win over Andrew Jackson on Friday, March 29, at the Braves’ field.
The Volunteers fell to 2-4 in region play.
Patterson paced the Vols’ attack with two hits, an RBI, stolen base and scored a run. Sowell had a hit and an RBI.
Madden drilled a double and scored a run. Lucas Deese had a double and walked. Landon Neal had a hit, walk and scored a run. Banks Helms had a hit and scored a run.
Williams supplied a hit and a walk.
Cade Jackson, in 2.2 innings, took the loss, allowing four runs, all earned, six hits and a walk.
Kenny Bailey went 3.1 innings, yielding four runs, two earned, four hits and a walk. He struck out two.
