LANCASTER, S.C. — Candidates have officially filed to run in both the upcoming primary and general elections.
Individuals seeking to run for public offices in Lancaster County and statewide had through the end of March to file as candidates for their party’s nomination.
Depending on the number of candidates within each party, some will proceed to a primary election to determine their party’s front-runner for the November election.
Some of the notable contested elections in this cycle include U.S. House District 5, State Senate Districts 17 and 27, and Lancaster County Council Districts 1 and 7.
Candidates for State House District 65, Lancaster County Council Districts 3 and 5, and the entire slate of other Lancaster County elected officials are uncontested.
